Global Wind Day 2020!

Wind energy has been around for thousands of years! Early windmills were used to pump water or crush grain. Now we are using wind energy to generate electricity. Wind energy has a huge potential, the only downfall is the intermittence of the energy electricity production, when the wind isn't blowing the turbines are idle. This is why we need other renewables and battery storage.

Global Wind Day is a worldwide event that occurs annually on 15 June. It is a day for discovering wind, its power and the possibilities it holds to reshape our energy systems, decarbonise our economies and boost jobs and growth. It is organised by WindEurope and GWEC (Global Wind Energy Council). It is a day when wind energy is celebrated, information is exchanged and adults and children find out about wind energy, its power and the possibilities it holds to change the world.
