Happy New year to you all! 🙌
May 2021 bring you good health and ecological fortune. 💚
2020 has been a rough year, from severe weather events to the global pandemic, it has not been easy by any means. It has however brought us clarity, when covid stopped the world... many of us began to realise that the way we have been going about our everyday lives is far from sustainable, meaning that we can not keep on going the way we are without facing the dire consequences that we are now beginning to see.
We are a part of nature, and now more than ever we must do all that we can to reconnect with and reduce our negative impacts on the natural world. 2021 is now an opportunity to be embraced, for us to set the path towards a more sustainable future.
We are not only reaching a tipping point for climate change, but the very biodiversity of life on earth is now approaching it's tipping point too. We must act now! Before it is too late.
Wherever we are, what ever we do, we can all do what we can with what we've got to live more sustainably! Here are some ideas that you may like to include in your New Years Resolutions:
Reduce plastic consumption.
Reduce food waste (compost our scraps.)
Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose & Recycle
Change our diets (eat less meat.)
Choose responsibly sourced seafood.
Choose organic where possible.
Grow our own food. (Permaculture)
Change the way we travel (travel less or use public transport.)
Choose an ethical bank and superannuation fund.
Reduce the use of paper, choose recycled.
Avoid 'fast fashion' up-cycling is the new fashion of 2021!
Choose sustainable clothing materials when buying new, such as hemp.
Switch to an electricity provider that invests in renewable energy.
Use less energy and water.
